Does Prolonged Dosage Of Monocef Cause Any Side Effects??

My son aged 21 yrs is hving Typhoid fever from last 10 days. He is being given 2 mg monocef iv Twice daily from last 7 days. Still low fever comes in every evening. My doc has advised to continue same dose for another 5 days.. I am afraid if Over dose may have severe side effects??

There are some persons who are on long term antibiotics to treat varied infections.

It would be best for him to continue the medication as suggested by his doctor.
It is not likely that he would experience any different side effects compared to what may have happened when on the course previously.
It is not considered an overdose.
