Does My Cold And Cough Have Any Relation To Pain In My Chest And Armpit?
I have had a heavy cold for the past two weeks, now am left with a slightly blocked nose and a horrible cough. Last night I started to get pains in my armpits and across the top of my chest. Although it is less sore this morning it is still there, is this something I should get checked out or just part of this awful cold/virus leaving my system?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion, we should first rule out lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI)- pneumonia first in your case. Because viral infection, sometimes can lead to pneumonia. And pneumonia can cause similar kind of pain you are having. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system 2. Chest x ray If you are having consolidation on chest x ray, then you may need antibiotics and other supportive medicines. So better to first rule out pneumonia.
