Does Mucus Discharge From The Anus Require Consultation After Colostomy?

my husband had a colostomy reversal and had no problems. Now about a month later he is having mucous discharge from the anus. It is clear or slightly pink. Is this a problem? Should he call the surgeon? How long will the discharge last? Other than a panty liner, what can he do?

What is bothering you may be normal one month after rectal (colon) surgery, however you should be properly evaluated by your surgeon to exclude any problems.
