Does Menstrual Bleeding Affect The Values Of Lipid Profile Test?
OK, does menstrual blood flow affect blood tests for lipid panel , especially for bad cholesterol / LDL - levels? I recently read that Tylenol or any meds containing acetaminophen may give false results w/ higher elevations/ numbers of bad cholesterol. I m curious to know, since I ve taken Extra-Strength Tylenol for menstrual cramps/symptoms in the past, when ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) is not available to me. Thank you for a prompt response !

Menstrual bleeding or pain killers like paracetamol or ibuprofen do not affect any parameter of lipid profile like LDL or HDL.
The elevation in bad cholesterol or LDL occurs due to high intake of fatty foods and not due to pain killer like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Elevated LDL is managed by life style modifications like reducing the intake of fatty foods, taking high amounts of fiber and regular exercising.
