Does Intake Of Alcohol With Hydrocodone And Nyquil Vary The AST And ALT Numbers?

I am very afraid, my AST and ALT numbers have come back at 112 and 113 respectively. There were taken in September and they were somewhere around 40 and 59.I am going back to my doctor on Monday 2/9/15 to find out what is going on.I take Hydrocodone 7.5/325 at least twice a day and have taken Nyquil every night for about the past three months.I also drink alcohol 4-5 times a week.I quit drinking for over two years and started back about a year ago.My drinking habits before I quit were way worse than they are now and they told me in detox (before I went to rehab) that my liver was fine. Could the combination of all of the acetaminophen and the alcohol be what has over doubled my numbers?

Welcome to HCM!
I can understand your problem due to raised AST & ALT levels.
There are four drug components present in Nyquil Acetaminophen, Dextrometharphan, Doxylamine & Pseudoephedrine.

The fact that you are still continuing to consume alcohol 4 - 5 times a week.
Acetaminophen and Alcohol when taken together can have a synergistic toxic effect on the liver which is reflected in the form of elevated ASK & ALT levels.

In addition to causing liver damage, other side effects seen are:

Using Dextromethorphan & Doxylamine together with Alcohol can increase nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. Using Hydrocodone along with Alcohol may result in impairment of judgment, thinking, and psychomotor skills. In more severe cases, hypotension, respiratory depression, profound sedation, coma may occur.

So, now it is really a matter of concern for you if you do not give up the habit of boozing. Try to seek the help for detoxification program definitely it will help you in preventing a number of toxic effects of alcohol on your body.
Take care.
