Does Intake Of Plavix And Baby Aspirin Cause Bleeding?
i have an elderly friend that has had problems when taking plavix and baby aspirin daily.she recently has been bleeding from she said, busted veins.she never felt any pain nor knew she was bleeding until someone noticed alot of blood and helped her wrap it up.she is concerned she will bleed to death in her sleep and has since stopped taking the two together.aspirin one day and plavix the next.can you tell me anything?
Aspirin and plavix are both anti platelet drugs and can be associated with risk of bleeding. This risk would be increased when the medication is combined.
Taking them separately would reduce the risk but she should speak to her doctor to let him/her know about the issues she has been experiencing and her change in frequency of using the medication.
Hello, Both plavix and aspirin are blood thinners . In elderly people skin is very fragile and can easily break even with a slight trauma resulting in bleeding. You must consult your doctor get your blood tested for any underlying bleeing disorder and get your prescription revised. Thanks
