Does General Anesthesia Prolong The Effects Of Concussion?

Would having general anesthesia (twice) after a concussion prolong the effects of the concussion (memory loss, concentration, focus, tracking)? And if my current diagnosis (after 17 months) is right parietal lobe damage, with cognitive issues in working memory and memory retention, ever reverse? How long should I hope for spontaneous recovery realistically?

Hello and welcome to " Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

After that time, general anesthesia does not prolong any effects of brain injury.

The damage also is very unlikely to get better after that time.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
