Does Fluctuating High BP Require Immediate Medical Attention?

Im 51 with high blood pressure, my sister just died over the weekend of 2 massive strokes, my younger sister had an aneurysm in Dec and survived, my father died of heart disease and my mother of an aneurysm. Today my bp has been bouncing all over the place 199/127 now after meds 168/118 with pulse of 111. should I be heading to the hospital? thanks Darlene

Yes Fluctuating high blood pressure as you mentioned require immediate medical attention. Blood pressure of even 168/118 with pulse of 111 is very high and could cause severe complications like Stroke, brain haemorrhage, heart problems & other dangerous complication.
You also have family history of stroke & aneurysm. Therefore chances of these problem are hish in you especially with high blood pressure. You should nor wait for the condition to decrease on its own & should rush to ER now.
