Does Epidural Numb The Urge To Pass Stools?

I had an Epedoral on Dec. 5th and have not had a normal bowel movement since. I have taken stool softeners, prune juice, miralX. I have no feeling of having to go to the bathroom. Does this happen sometimes because I have had a series of three shots previously with good results. Thank you

Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms are not typical of any complications related to epidural shots.
From the other hand, if there were any complications related to such procedure, you would also experience other complaints like urinary retention, numbness of the genital area or in the legs.
So, there is nothing to worry about!
I recommend consulting with a gastro-enterologist for your troubles with constipation.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
