Does Enlarged Thyroid Cause Pain In Lower Gums And Chin?

I am experiencing pain in my lower gum, chin, neck & chest.... When I tilt my chin to my chest, I feel the numbness. I have neck problems, and I m going to PT - but I also have an enlarged goiter/thyroid, and wondering could that cause chin pain? My thyroid was checked in December 2013 - and even though it is enlarged, the doctor felt I was OK - all blood work is good.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,

The thyroid volume should be extremely enlarged to cause the symptoms you described. In most cases, it may cause difficulty in breathing. Anyway, you need to check it every 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mirjeta Guni, Endocrinologist
