General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

An ear infection may sometimes cause a temporary or reversible hearing loss. This generally occurs because the infection blocks sound from passing through the ear canal.

If you suspect about hearing the loss of your son you should go to the emergency room. Meanwhile, you should give your son anti-inflammatory syrup such as Tylenol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
