Does Discontinuation Of Gabapentin Worsen Migraine?

My 16 year daughter is on 600 mg of gabapentin daily for migraine control, it does not seem to be working, she also suffers from anxiety. She has been on the gabapentin for 4 weeks now and it seems it is making her anxiety worse. She sees her neurologist 3 days from now. Is it safe to start taking her off of the gabapentin before seeing him? It really upsets me to see her mood swings happening so often.

no it is not safe to discontinue gabapentin by urself without consulting a neuro. gabapentin is known to affect the moods. you doctor will substitute another med with gabapentin so that the migraines dont get worse after stopping gabapentin suddenly.
