Does Blood Transfusion During Pregnancy Due To Low HB Count Affect The Fetus?

i am 12 week pregnant and too tired. yesterday i found out my HB level is only 5.2 through blood test . doctor said it is toooo low and advised blood transfusion. i am worried about my baby and myself. what should i do? is blood transfusion only way to help my condition?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

A mildly low level of hemoglobin can be corrected with supplements, but a level as low as yours needs to be corrected with a blood transfusion. The blood transfusion if conducted with care will only help the fetus and not harm it.
