Does Blister Occurred Post Removal Of Implanon Cause Infection?

Hello, I had my implanton removed on thursday and it s blistered. I went to the doctors this morning and it s now popped, however my sterile strip is still stuck on the blister and I m afraid that if I pull it, it ll tear the blister open and make it open to infection.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Blister which has happened after the removal of Implanon could get infected.
Hence, you need to take care of the lesion by rinsing it with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon to maintain proper hygiene. Also, you could take antiinflammatory medications like Ibuprofen after food for 3 days to aid faster healing.
In case it becomes infected, it would swell up in size with discharge of pus. Then, along with the above measures, you should take a course of oral antibiotics.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
