Does Alcohol Consumption Lead To Elevation Of ALT Levels?

High, I recently had a CBC and CMP performed and was slightly concerned about my serum transaminase levels. My AST was 41, which is not too concerning, but my ALT was 90. I do drink >3 drinks about 3-4 nights/week and I was also using a salicylic acid gel for acne treatment at the time. No other meds OTC or prescribed. Hep panels and HIV test negative. I was wondering if the alcohol and/or the gel may have caused the elevated ALT. My concern stems from a possible HIV exposure and reading that during primary HIV infection, serum transaminase elevations are common. I also noticed my absolute lymphocyte count was borderline at 1500 and 23% of total WBC. I have taken a second HIV Ab test at 7 weeks, but have to wait 2 weeks for results. Thanks
