Does Acne Occur Post A Typhoid Infection?

Hi iam 29yrs,5'4 and i weigh 72kgs ,i had typoid in june and july this year and i was put on various antibiotics,however i recently tested for typhoid and it seems to have cleared ,however recently i went to the A&E at a hospital that i usually attend and the doctor told me that i could be suffering from acne i was prescribed candid tv shampoo and acne aid soap which seem to be working,please advise is it normal for someoneto get acne after typhoid

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query yes acne occur post a typhoid infection as immunity of body gets compromised. Need not to owrry. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing salicylic acid , which is very effective for acne. You should start with use of topical antibacterial clindamycin gel as a spot treatment for acne during day time. Apply kojic acid cream after washing your face. Apply vitamin C serum at night. Protect your skin from sun exposure. If condition persist even after a month the consult dermatologist . Doctor may recommend techniques like laser therapy and dermabrasion for dark spots and prescribe antibiotics , retinoids and tretinoin for acne .
