Does A Missed Period After Unprotected Intercourse Mean Pregnancy?
I Can t rremember the last timeI saw my period, but I ttook postinor2 on the 16th of august, cos I had unprotected sex on 15th of august. There was no withdrawal bleeding and my monthly pperiod has not shown up. When should I take a pregnancy test? Is it possible for a strip to detect ppregnancy now?
You may have to rule out pregnancy. So for that you can check with urine pregnancy test. For further confirmation you may require obstetrics ultrasound, beta hCG levels after gynaecologist consultation.
Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. So in case of missed period, you may require detailed evaluation by gynaecologist.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
