General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, definitely kidney problems can cause edema. However typically this type of edema develops early around eyeballs and then spreads to the whole body. While edema due to the cardiac problem usually starts with legs. You have to rule out the proper cause by consulting cardiologist as well as a nephrologist. Masses on kidney are suggestive of parenchymal pathology of kidney possibly cancerous or benign lesion. Biopsy report will confirm the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
