Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The
head injury may cause
internal bleeding. It is always a possibility. But to suspect it, we must look for symptoms which can appear due to internal bleeding. these symptoms are
-
Severe headache, progressively worsening and not responding to medication
-
Vomiting episodes without nausea
- Seizures
- Focal weakness in limbs
-
Loss of consciousness of more than 5 minutes or altered behaviour
- Bleed through ear, nose and mouth without direct injury
If you are having any of above features, chances of internal bleeding are high. If not, it is highly unlikely to have internal bleeding.
But if you still want to clear doubt, get a NCCT head done. It will detect internal bleeding with 97-99% accuracy.
Hope it will help you. If still any doubts, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
