Does A Cemented Hip Replacement Procedure Cause Osteonecrosis?

IF one has a hip replacement and the procedure uses cement this introduces a second interface of dissimilar materials. The first being the prosthesis and bone interface. Does this introduce that likelihood of more complications. Since the cement produces heat as it hardens does this cause bone necrosis?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The cement used for hip replacement is of specific type to align at the interface level only, it does not produce necrosis as it is not compromising blood circulation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
