Does Zonegran Cause Low White Blood Cell Count And Low BP?

My daughter is 32 years old, has generalized epilepsy controlled by Zonegran. She has been on Zonegran for a little over a year. She had a CBC that showed a low white count (don t know the actual number). She looked back on previous CBC results and can see the white count has been declining since she has been on the medication. She also has low blood pressure - 98/48 - taken this week. Her doctor didn t say anything about that. Is there a relationship between the low white count, low blood pressure and the Zonegran? She is following up with her neurologist with her concerns. Thank you.

zonisamide can decrease wbc cell count with time. but if your daughter is not suffering from any infections and the decrease is not that significant i.e.not less than 10,000,then its not to worry. sometimes the benefits of the med has to be wieghed against the side effects.
the blood pressure is normal its not considered low and no link with the zonisamide.
hope that answers the question
