Does Xanax Cause Difficulty In Walking?

my wife is 76 yrs old and had a port put in today for kidney dialysis and she has fiber myalgia ? they gave her a xanax pill to calm her don t know the mg . by the end of the day she could not walk or get up from a chair she has difficulties any way but could walk with the aid of a walker., could zanax could have caused this side effect.

Xanax is a benzodiazepine which has many side effects like any medication, including muscle cramps, muscle rigidity and muscle tone disorder.
Your wife has a fibromyalgia which affects muscle tones and there's an evidence of muscle weakness caused by dialysis by losing proteins during the process.
The muscle weakness might be caused by a contribution of previous situations which needs a medical review by her doctor.

I suggest that you consult her doctor to make the right assessment of her condition.
