Does Wellbutrin Help In Managing Dementia And Alzheimer S Disease?

I am 70 yrs. old and young for my age, however, this year my cognitive awareness is down, confused, forgetful, can t remember or understand appointments, etc. I am also Borderline, lots of anxiety, abdominal troubles; biological parents both had Alzeimer s for 10 years. I have been on Wellbutrin for years. I can t remember if I am on it now. Would it help with senility - dementia - or Alzheimer s? What dosage would be adequate? I have a good psychiatrist and licensed psychologist, I am starting to get scared.

To be honest, Welbutrin has no role in Alzheimer's disease nether in senile dementia. However, there are other drugs that can be used for Alzheimer disease. But more important is that all dementia are not because of Alzheimer's disease. There are reversible dementia caused by thyroid disease , some vitamin deficiency , some infection , and also importantly depression and anxiety. So it is very important that you see a neurologist , so that you could be assessed for any possible reversible cause. He would also advise you the treatment.
