Does Primolut N Help To Reduce The Endometrial Thickness?

Hello Doctor i had MRI done which showed endometrial thickness of 41 mm. biopsy report showed simple hyperplasia without atypia. i was put on Primolut n 10 mg thrice a day for 21 days. followed by usually heavy and clot full bleeding. TVS at 5th day of withdrawal bleeding showed thickness of 11mm in fundus and 34 mm in cavity. I want to know whether the continued treatment of Primolut can bring the thickness to normal with normal menstrual cycles and in how much time. should i consider hysterectomy as i am 51 of age.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The thickness of endometrium up to 34 mm involving cavity area is absolutely pathological finding and the same has to be considered as serious matter of concern. Though hormone medications will give primary suppression of heavy menses, there are all high chances of recurrent issues or even turning the pathology to malignant one over a period of times. A biopsy of uterus is also must before deciding for the hysterectomy need here.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
