Does Primolut N Cause Delayed Periods?

Hi I’m going away on holiday next week and I’m going to take primolut N to delay my period for about 10days while on holiday. The doctor said I will get my period about 2/3days after I stop taking it. But I’ve been reading that some people have had delays on there period the next month, is this a side effect? Will this pill effect my future periods or will everything just go back to normal and Will it effect my fertility?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Any hormone can potentially affect the following period but it would not have a long-term effect. There are a number of women who take hormonal birth control for a number of years and stop to conceive so the short-term use for a few days is not likely to have a long-term effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
