Does Panadeine Forte Give False Positive Test Result For Methamphetamine?

A friend has just started taking duromine for weight loss and he takes mersyndol at the end of his night shift to help him sleep during the day and took panadienefort 48 hrs ago as he had a sore back. I gave him a random urine test to take before he started back at work and they are usually drug tested. He was shocked that the test tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and opiods. I explained that the duromine could cause the positive meth and amp results I just wanted to cheak that the advice I gave him was correct and if he takes his script in he should be ok? And regards to the opiods I no codine will test positive and he takes long acting and shirt acting tramadol for back pain when it flair ups can that contribute to a possitive opiod result as technically it s a narcotic. We live in Australia and I no the drug concentration levels are different than the USA in the testing strip any advice? Thanks

Hi,

Duromine is phentermine is an amphetamine. It does not produce a false positive because it is a TRUE positive. It would certainly be detectable for 3 to 5 days and can be detectable a bit longer. Codeine is a narcotic. It is metabolized to morphine and both can be detected in drug testing. I would not expect tramadol to show up on opioid tests even though tramadol has narcotic like effects.
