Does Nexito 10 Posses Side Effect?

I have been prescribed Nexito 10 half tablet ...I am 60 yrs old,smart well educated woman,am going thru lot of stress ...

cant sleep very well...

but i dont feel depressed...so should I start taking this medicine as I hear there are lot of side effects!

Hello.The active ingredient of the drug that you refer is Escitalopram.Besides of antidepressant effect,Escitalopram has too anxiolytic effect, so your doctor has prescribed. However it is advisable to add a anxiolytic as Lorazepam or Alprazolam. The side effects of Escitalopram are not important (less at that low dose), only during the first 2-3 weeks nausea or abdominal discomfort.I recommend taking the prescribed drug.I wish you good health.
