Does Lisinopril Intake For Kidney Protection Result In Vertigo, Dizziness And Headache?

I recently was put on 2.5 mg of Lisinopril for kidney protection with diabetes. I do not have high blood pressure, but am on oral diabetic meds. Shortly after starting the medication, I experience a bout of vertigo. Also, not totally a new experience, but one that does not happen too often. I have also experienced some smaller bouts of the vertigo along with some headache and slight dizziness. Is this likely just a coincidence or from the Lisinopril?

Vertigo, dizziness and headache are known side effects of lisinopril. But you are a diabetic patient therefore other causes of vertigo, headache and dizziness such as high blood pressure and ear or eye problem need to be ruled out. But more chance is that it is due to lisinopril. For ruling pot other causes you need to consult a neurologist who will properly examine your nervous system and will recommend investigation as per need and as per finding on physical examination.
Advice
1.     Continue lisinopril and other anti – diabetic drugs as suggested by your doctor
2.     Consult a neurologist of your local area
3.     You can take cinnarizine for symptomatic relief of vertigo and dizzines
4.     Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee and caffeinated beverages
5.     Regular exercise at least 30 minutes for 5 days in a week. The best types of exercise for lowering BP include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing.
6.     Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products
7.     Consume less salt
8.     Lose extra weight if you are overweight and keep your body mass index between 19 and 25. BMI is calculated by formula BMI = Weight in Kilograms / (height in meters x height in meters)
9.     Reduce your metal stress because stress activates sympathetic system and increases BP
10.     Measure your BP regularly and be in touch with your regular doctor
11.     Regularly check your blood sugar level
