Does Levothyroxine Cause Raynaud S Disease On The Legs?

I ve been on levothyroxine for many years & a few years ago I was diagnosed with raynauds disease in my legs and it s getting worse. They are very sensitive to the heat as well as the cold. Pain & been getting red & hived up. I ve been to specialist for circulation & all seems normal. And spider veins are getting terrible as well. May the thyroid medicine have anything to do with my legs?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Levothyroxine is very unlikely to cause such problems particularly when your hormones are under control as indicated by a normal value of TSH (thyroid-stimulating-hormone). Raynaud's is usually caused by rheumatologic-autoimmune disorders and perhaps you should consult a rheumatologist for assessment and further investigation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
