Does Lesuride Have Suitable Alternatives, Which Do Not Have Long-term Side Effects?

I have done proximal gastrectomy of stomach, a year ago. After my operation, I have a problem of digestion. Now I am taking lesuride because of diarrhea and constipation . I am taking it more than the prescribed dose .I have heard it has a side effect in long term use. what are the alternatives?

Hi,

As far as my clinical experience is concerned, the long-term GI prokinetic agents as Lesuride have a lot more side effects.

Alternatives working best would be dietary measures enzyme preparations in form of capsule or syrup bulk-forming laxatives in cases of constipation probiotics wise use under the guidance of your gastroenterologist.
