Does Lanreotide Injections Cause Pinkish Diarrhea With Painful Stomach?
Hello I have carcinoid tumors and I get lanreotide injections once a month. I used to have diarrhea now it is bak for two days now it is a bright pink in color. I have not eaten anything today that is pink. I am having it even if i am not eating. can I wait until tommorrow to see a doctor. I am having gas pains and of course my stomach hurts.
Side effects such as diarrhoea, bloating, gas, and abdominal pain can occur with Lanreotide. It is difficult to tell if these are related to the medication or the disease. If these occur, they typically stop within 1-4 days of the injection and decrease with long-term treatment.Any presence of blood should be ruled out since diarrhoea has been mentioned as pink in colour. Meanwhile proton pump inhibitors can be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
