Does Exemestane Cause Weight Gain?

Yes, I am wanting to know if exemestane can cause weight gain and water retention? I am recovering from breast cancer and am overweight (195#and 5 tall) . Currently I am taking : exemestane 25mg, naproxen 500mg, aspirin 81mg, tofranil 30mg, raloxifene 60mg, hydrochlorothocide 25mg, amlodipine benazepril 10-20mg, omeprrazole 20mg, and effexor 37.5mg. I also take extra calcium, multi vitamin. Quite a litany I know. I try to eat a healthy diet, but don t have the ambition to cook very often. Being a widow, I don t often get the ambition to make a meal . I am also seeing a chiropractor for an ongoing sciatic issue, so the exercise has dropped off. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you, Annette Downs

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Exemestane is less likely causes weight gain but Tofranil may cause weight gain. Also check for hypothyroidism or excessive calories intake or water retention in Amlodipine induced edema, etc. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
