Does Eliquis Usage To Prevent Strokes Require Frequent Blood Tests?
It has been recommended by both my primary care and cardiologist that I take Eliquis or warfarin to help avoid stroke. I had taken warfarin for 6 months 14 years ago and I remember all the dietary restrictions and frequent blood tests. I have been told that with Eliquis, there is no valneed for the dietary restrictions, but what about the blood tests. I assume there would have to be some in order to make sure of the proper dosage, but after that, how often are blood tests required?

i can understand your concern.
There are no blood tests to monitor dosage of eliquis and it doesnt have any interactions with food that you take.
the standard dosage of 2.5mg twice daily has to be taken by you for stroke prophylaxis. You need not worry about the dose adjustments with eliquis.
