Does Deriphyllin help to treat bronchial spasm?

i am apatient of cardiomegaly after infarction. Can i use deriphyllin for my bronchial spasm.asthalin 100micrograms requires to be taken 3-4 times in the night,something like paroxysmal nocternal dyspnoea. There is no dyspnoeic effect much,it is more of tenacious mucus with cough. not able to cough out sputum

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Deriphyllin tablet contains Etofylline and Theophylline.
It is used for the prophylaxis and relief of reversible bronchospasm associated with asthma (acute and chronic), bronchitis including chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other obstructive airway diseases where reversible airway narrowing occurs.
However, you need to take this drug with caution as you have cardiac complaints and it might cause adverse effect on the activity of the heart.
Kindly consult Cardiologist or Physician for proper assessment before taking the medications.
