Hi,

The Copper -T IUD is a plastic, T shaped device with copper wire wrapped around it. It creates an inflammatory reaction in your uterus which is toxic to sperm. They helps prevent pregnancy. The device lasts up to 10 years before you need to replace it. The Copper- T IUD doesn't contain any hormones, so there is no direct way that it would affect weight gain. Copper- T IUD users may gain weight though, just like people who are not using any contraception will gain weight with time and age. Gaining body weight or obesity may hamper normal menstrual cycle.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
