Does Claritin-D Intake Result In Severe Headache, Extreme Thirst And Excess Sweat?

what are side effects of claritin-D? after taking one tablet this a.m., about 3 hours later, my face was flushed and I was sweating profusely to the point that my hair became very wet and I had a severheadache and was extremely thirsty. I m wondering if all these symptoms was from the claritin-d

Hi,

Claritin-D contains 2 main ingredients loratadine and pseudoephedrine.
Loratadine is an anti-histaminic and can treat various allergy reactions and other hypersensitivity conditions.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant causing vasoconstriction. This can explain why your face was flushed and you were sweating profusely 3 hours after taking Claritin-D.

Your extreme thirst is due to loss of fluids after profusely sweat.

I advise to stop taking anything containing pseudoephedrine. Instead can use only anti-histaminic alone and observe is symptoms will appear again.

If the symptoms will persist without improvement, should go to ER or contact with your physician as soon as possible.
