Does Chloraseptic Interact With Robutissan?

What a fine service you provide. My husband who is 62 has been taking Robutissan DM the past couple of nights. Because it didn t help the night coughing, he is thinking of taking chloraseptic lozenges. His last doze of Robutissan was 24 hrs ago. Is it safe for him to take the chloraseptic lozenge?

Yes it is safe. They likely have interactions (the DM lowers drug metabolism by the liver) but each drug is quite safe and the interactions are not going to matter. Furthermore the chloreseptic acts directly. If any of it were to be absorbed, the amount in the body would be tiny--it acts by its direct application to the throat--and even doubling the amount that accumulates due to the DM would still be tiny.
