Does BCG Treatment For Bladder Cancer Affect The Vocal Cords?

I have recently been having BCG treatments for bladder cancer. I have noticed that my vocal cords tend to hurt during the day. I sing for church and am concerned that the BCG live culture may have some side affect that is effecting my vocal cords. Your response, I await.

Hi,

The HCG treatment doesn't affect vocal cord directly. You are having a singing profession. So it can lead to vocal cord strain or nodule.

So I suggest you consult otorhinolaryngologist for indirect laryngoscopy examination and accordingly further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
