Do Left-sided Pelvic Pain, Nausea And Poor Appetite Indicate Pregnancy?
Hi doctor I am 29 years old. I am using an IUD spiral, however this is my 3rd day already that I have pain at my left pelvic, and I am feeling nausea and less appetite. I have been having intercourse with my boyfriend. Is it possible that I could be pregnant?
IUD are quite effective to protect against pregnancy but in very rare cases it might happen that a woman can get pregnant even while having an IUD. To better make sure if you are pregnant or not you will need to have a pregnancy test if your periods are delayed. If the test is negative repeat it in 3-4 days and if negative again then very likely the symptoms are not due to pregnancy.
If the symptoms go on you will need a visit with your doctor and possibly a gynecological visit to rule out pelvic infection. Another possible cause of the symptoms is constipation and problems with the bowel. A good visit will be able to determine which is the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
