Do Increased Anxiety And Headaches While On Cymbalta And Trazodone Indicate Serotonin Syndrome?

I take cymbalta 120 mg and trazodone 150 nightly for depression.this is a regimen that has been effective for 55 years. For 2 months, my anxiety has greatly increased, also intense headaches that come suddenly, dissipating quickly. I have PTSD also. Could this be sera ronin syndrome?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hello user, i understand your concerns - however the description and onset of symptoms do not match with typical presentation of serotonin syndrome - it develops into a serious condition within a matter of 1-2 days and the affected ones present with symptoms like gyperthermia, rigidity, nausea, diarrhoea, insomnia , agitation ,raised bp and heart rate etc. - in your case its headache and anxiety symptoms that have emerged since about 2 months - it may be due to your primary psychiatric condition or some contributory physical condition - so you shpould report them to your treating doctor for evaluation and management . Take care
