Do Fiber Pills Or Light Radiation Cause Back Pain?

I m taking light radiation therapy for cancer in my pelvic area. Full bladder and empty rectum are rules of the day. I ve been taking a couple of fiber pills each evening to facilitate the empty rectum and have developed a, ache in my lower back I didn t have before. Could that be a result of the pills or just comes with the radiation thing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello welcome to hcm

i understand your problem

backpain due to radiation is less likely only if you had menopause due to radiation it can cause back-pain

taking fiber pills can decrease calcium absorption which can lead to back pain

or it can be due to the further spread of cancer to the adjacent regions can lead to back-pain

so it is better you to consult your treating radiotherapist or oncologist about this problem

hope it helped
