Do Fever And Abdominal Soreness Need Medical Attention?

I have a low-grade fever and a soreness in my left abdominal area. Sometimes there are sharper twinges in my back. Do I need to see a doctor right away or can I wait to see if things get worse? Also- at times over the past several months I have an overall tightness in my abdominal area that are comparable to Braxton-HIcks contractions. I m not sure if I should see a OB-GYN or a family practice doctor.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
With the history you have provided you shoulssww a Family Doctor as soon as possible.
This is due to the fact that you have low grade fever with soreness in the left side of abdomen.
This is definitely indicative of an infection in the area either due to intestinal or urinaru tract.
You also need the investigations of blood, stool and urine; ultrasonography of abdomen and any other investigations as advised on clinical evaluation and examination.
This will allow proper management with appropriate antibiotics, supportive and symptomatic management.
