Do Maxidex And Chlorsig Eye Drops Cause Constipation?

3 weeks ago I had cataract surgery and I am continuing to use Maxidex eye drops and was using Chlorsig antibiotic eye drops. I have noticed in past 5 days that my urine is lemon yellow and I am constipated. Constipation is very rare for me I should add. Could these be side effects?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to the literature there is no constipation to above mentioned drugs.

But once again check for your dietary habits or sedantary life style etc.

Eat high fiber diet, drink plenty of liquids. Do exercise regularly.

Use Metamucil or Benefiber for bulk formation of stools.

If symptoms not improved please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
