Do Lexapro And Celebrex Interfere With Each Other?

My friend wants to know what the interactions of lexapro and celebrex are,as she is on lexapro and has just been prescribed celebrex,she seems to think she was on celebrex a long time ago and it made her very drowsy etc like she going gaga any info would be greatly appreciated

Hello,

Your friend guessed it right there is significant interaction between Lexapro and Celebrex. Each enhance the effect of the other. So Use Caution/Monitor closely. Increased risk of upper GI bleeding. It's better for her to go for any other alternative drug to Celebrex. As she had taken it previously with side effects, it's better not to take Celebrex. You can discuss the same with your prescribing physician.
