Discomfort Below Breastbone, Fluttering In Chest, Palpitation, Sleeplessness. On Co Codamol. What Is The Reason?
Hi My name is Elaine. I am 49yrs old. I have had these simptoms for 4 days now. I have visited my GP and the ECG seems normal and also I have a history in having these pains before and every thing seems fine.
The trouble is that I am still in a lot of discomfort and I feel very uncomfortable just below my breast bone. The pain is there all the time and hurts alot when I walk around. My GP has perscribed me cocodamal which I am taking but it makes me feel sick and dopy. It does help with the pain and reduces it so that I can just about sleep.
I do get alot of palpitations and I can sometimes feel that my chest is fluttering.
There are many causes and conditions that produce anterior chest wall pain. A few of them are * Cardiac causes *Disease of the lungs -Bronchospasm, pneumonia, Tracheitis etc *Musculoskeletal - costochondritis, intercostal myalgia etc *Gastrointestinal system - Oesophagitis, Gastric ulcer etc * Neurological - Herpes infection etc * Anxiety and emotion
So, a detailed clinical examination by a physician is needed to establish a possible diagnosis.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
