Did Ultrasound. Seen Some Fluid In The Ovary. Suggested To Be A Rupture Of A Cyst. Is It A Sign For Not Ovulating?

I just got an ultrasound due to some twinges on my right side. Turn out the doctor saw some fluid around my right ovary. The doctors say it may be a cyst that ruptured. The scan was taken on CD 16 which is my normal day to ovulate (I think). I would like to know if the fluid around my ovary is from the ruptured cyst or is it a sign as to whether or not i ovulated. I really want to be sure if i am ovulating.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The presence of mild amount of fluid around the ovaries with no dominant follicle present in any of the ovaries can be related to a ruptured follicle causing an ovulation. Serial scans are necessary to confirm this.
