Diagnosed With PMR. Pain In Both Hands, Eased With Aleve. Arthritis Or Both?

I was diagnosed with PMR about 5 years ago, but then it "went away". I now have the same symptoms, but have added pain in both hands -- mostly around the thumb and base of the thumb -- which is eased with Aleve, but hasn't gone away. I also have been told by my physician that I have "significant arthritis". So - might the PMR have come back? Or is this arthritis? Or maybe two things happening an once?

hi,
actually PMR can cause pain in hands, but generally does not produce synovitis(arthritis.
so it may be two different things.
