Hello ma'am and welcome.

You doctor is right, it is sometimes normal for women to miss their periods even if they always had a normal menstrual cycle.

But it is also considered normal for women to return a negative result to a pregnancy test despige being pregnant. In my experience I have seen a woman 3 months pregnant, who did not test positive for even one pregnancy test conducted (urine or serum).

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
