Dear Doctor, Recent blood tests indicate a liver problem. My doctor recommended using Milk Thistle to address it. Since I began taking it, apprx 10 days ago, I've developed a rash. It resembles ring worm. But I've been assured by dermatologist and GP it is not ring worm. (I've had the rash intermittently. I'm 65 years old and have topical reaction to certain detergents, etc.) Important to note that at the same time I began taking Milk Thistle, I had to take a course of Clindamycin for abcess tooth. I've since finished the course of antibiotics. So, whatcha think? I know it i'ss difficult to answer my question with only the provided info. But this is all I have at present.
Can you suggest a "natural" or "herbal", etc. treatment I can use in place of Milk Thistle? Also note: on the bottle of Milk Thistle there is a warning that it may not be appropriate for people with allergies to ragweed or any daisy-like flower. I have a heap of seasonal allergies. (includes red clover) I'd appreciate your opinion based on this info. And I am also taking a number of prescribed meds for blood pressure accompanied by Lasix daily, (I have CHF), thyroid, estradiol, anti-depressants, and Zyrtec.
So that's it. Thanking you in advance for your instinctive and experience driven reply.
Sincerely, Monica Mitchell
