Cut Index Finger, Cured Still Cannot Bend Finger, Pain. Permanent Damage? Part Of Healing?

A week ago I cut my index finger across my middle knuckle. It was quite deep but I used sterile strips to close the cut and strapped my finger to a small splint to stop it from bending It and opening the cut. The cut is healing. The swelling is almost completely gone. But now when I take the splint off I can t bend my finger with pain on the topside of my knuckle. I can only bend it a small amount. Is there possible permanent damage or is this part of the healing ?

Hi,

It is not a part of healing.
You consult physiotherapist or orthopaedic surgeon.Due to restricted movement, your index finger is damaged at carpophalangeal joint. There may be fibrosis around the joint.

Physiotherapist may give physiotherapy to improve the movement or if needed, orthopedic surgeon may do small surgical operation and may improve the condition.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
